What is an abnormal vehicle or abnormal loads?
In South Africa “abnormal vehicles” are considered a vehicle or vehicles together with their loads that cannot be moved on public roads without exceeding the limitations in terms of the dimensions and/or mass as prescribed in the National Road Traffic Regulations, 2000.
“Abnormal loads” are usually qualified as loads that cannot be dismantled without disproportionate effort, expense or risk of damage, into units that can travel or be transported legally as prescribed in the National Road Traffic Regulations, 2000.
